He wrote he 'loved' me...

...with roses!

I woke up Saturday morning following a trail of rose petals to my living room where Jamison left a surprise for me. I loved it! Happy One Year Jamison!

My new beautiful bouquet of red roses after!
I love you Jamison.

365 days~What a Journey.

Today, is Jamison and I's first anniversary {of dating each other} and boy what an adventure it has been! One year that I hope to never forget, we spent some great times together.

How did Jamison and I first meet?

I happened to be writing a journal the time I started dating Jamison, I will let my first journal entry of Jamison tell the story for this blog entry.

March 29, 2009

Last night I went on a date with Jamison Garner which I absolutely loved! In fact, I’m giddy at the thought of seeing him tonight because I really do like him. What I think is so funny about our date together is that his Dad, Mom and both sisters have wanted me to date Jamison for the longest time now. Jamison’s dad is Brother Garner, my council advisor at the Institute, Sister Garner, I worked with her once cooking spaghetti at the Institute, his older sister Lindsay is on executive council and I’m thinking about moving in with Taylor next semester who is his little sister. I practically know his entire family and yet I have never been able to meet him. I won’t lie, I was really nervous to go out on this date because I was embarrassed by how much I really didn’t know him…

So at the time of the date he picked me up for dinner, which was at Applebee’s, and I had the easiest time talking with him. What is really weird is how many things the both of us have in common which made it really easy to talk to him. {Such as our preferences in movies in that I don’t like chick flicks and horror films and oddly enough something about toothbrushes...}

After dinner we went out to Three Peaks and started a bonfire where the rest of his friends joined us. We were technically still on a date even though no one else there was on a date. There were so many stars it was beautiful! I love Jamison’s smile which he did a lot of around me, he is so funny and I was constantly laughing at his jokes. In a lot of ways he reminds me of Austin because sometimes you laugh more at him then you do at the actual joke. I bet sitting through movies with Jamison is really funny! At the bonfire Jamison was sweet enough to explain to me all of the side stories that were going on so that I wouldn’t be so confused with all of his friend’s inside jokes. I thought it was really nice of him so that I felt included and not absolutely lost and feel left out. Although it was nice to have him around me super close it wasn’t absolutely necessary, on the date I was able to show that I could hold a conversation with others around the fire and still be enjoying myself. But for him to stand there next to me took a lot of patience I think, not very many people would have the patience to do that so it was nice to see him act that way around me.

At the end of the night we were touching arms we were standing so close. I won’t lie if he would have grabbed my hand and held onto it I wouldn’t have minded. He was such a perfect gentleman and there wasn’t one part during the night that I was uncomfortable. He opened all of my doors which was nice, no one ever does that anymore! When it came time to say goodbye I didn’t hug him good night or anything because we were still in the car and he didn’t get out. But he did grab my arm, I wish that I could have done it better though and do a redo but I can’t sadly enough. Hopefully I can make up for it the next time I seem him and that it won't be too awkward! Keep them crossed!

Picture that was taken on our very first date at the bonfire~I love how happy we look!

And Then Life Took a Twist....

...In color! Jamison and I were messing around with different options on his phone camera and took some awesome negative shots.

Just wanted to share with you some of our {Jamison and I's} favorites...

This happens to be my personal favorite :)

 My man...looking up fun music videos to watch. {OneRepublic has some weird music videos}.

 My jeans and booties. I love how this picture turned out, it makes it look hand drawn!

What a stud. I loved his hair in this one! {Very good looking may I say...}

I did my hair rather different today, it's actually not a braid...its a twist.

Jamison's favorite.

 Maybe because it is so artistic of me {Jamison is an artist.}

 I personally like how insane my eyes look...other than that I find this picture rather creepy...!

Help! I'm Alive!

My new song obsession~I couldn't help but share it with everyone. I know...it is quite shocking that I would like a song such as this one...but thanks to my brothers I like a wide/strange variety of different genres of music. So...here you go!

*Special thanks to Austin for showing me the song and Hudson's sound system in his car...I'm hooked!

One Of Those Days...

I broke several personal world records today {well at least in comparison to my roommates}.
Hair~ 3 minutes
Makeup~ 2 minutes
Clothing~ 4 minutes
Comments about how good I looked today?~ 13. {okay...not including Jamison...8}

Today was just one of those days where you wake up later then what I usually do giving me only a few minutes to get ready for the day. On days such as these you would expect to not look great on those days and yet I seemed to have achieved this 'art'.

My secret? It's rather simple when you think about it.

 ~Hair. I did the top section in a side braid bringing it into a pony tail at the nape of my neck. Having a braid is in fashion...again, not to mention when done right makes a dull ponytail look fabulous!

~It's all about the makeup, don't put on that foundation crap. Just show that inner beauty of yours, people/boys really like it. {What is the purpose for foundation anyway especially at this age?}

~Invest in good eye shadow. My personal favorite being Mac eye shadow that is a burnt brown color, makes my blue eyes pop!

~Use eyeliner. Don't use a sharpie black marker...are you stupid?

~Clothing. It's all about the shirt, and you can't go wrong with a pair of skinny jeans and flats. {Unless you are curvy...obviously}.

~Most importantly. If you don't feel good about yourself...then any compliment towards you goes down the drain anyway...so get one of those positive attitudes while you are at it!

Foggy Future.

I have now come to the point in my life where I need to make some serious life decisions. Should I get married? Have I found the right man? Have I chosen the right major? Do I want to be a General Manager of a classy resort? Am I doing the right thing by going to Maryland this summer and missing the first week of school? Did I make the right decision giving up my job as an RA for next fall?

I have a foggy future.

I began listening to the band Owl City {such a great band} and I came across this song in which the lyrics seems to fit perfectly with how I am feeling.
{Especially the end. I love the change of tempo in the music. Oh and the lyrics are perfect}

Just click play below and listen {and feel free to read the lyrics}.

Tidal Wave-Owl City

I wish I could cross my arms
And cross your mind 'cause I believe
You'd unfold your paper heart
And wear it on your sleeve

All my life I wish I broke mirrors
Instead of promises
'Cause all I see is a shattered conscience
Staring right back at me

I wish I had covered all my tracks completely
'Cause I'm so afraid
Is that the light at the far end of the tunnel
Or just the train?

Lift your arms, only Heaven knows
Where the danger grows and it's safe to say
There's a bright light up ahead
And help is on the way, help is on the way

I forget the last time I felt brave
I just recall insecurity
'Cause it came down like a tidal wave
And sorrow swept over me

Depression, please cut to the chase
And cut a long story short
Oh, please be done, how much longer
Can this drama afford to run?

Fate looks sharp, severs all my ties
And breaks whatever doesn't bend
But sadly then, all my heavy hopes
Just pull me back down again

I forget the last time I felt brave
I just recall insecurity
'Cause it came down like a tidal wave
And sorrow swept over me

Then I was given grace and love
I was blind but now I can see
'Cause I found a new hope from above
And courage swept over me

It hurts just to wake up
Whenever you're wearing thin
Alone on the outside
So tired of looking in

The end is uncertain
And I've never been so afraid
But I don't need a telescope
To see that there's hope
And that makes me feel brave

Forget the Snow...Bring on the Sunshine!

I know, I know. I told you earlier in another blog entry that until the sunshine and warmth came that I was going to enjoy all the snow I could get...well forget that!

Mother Nature is flirting with us and I don't like it! "Let's have a 65 degree weather day and by the end of the evening have a blizzard with at least 6" of snow left on the ground." Har Har Mother Nature. It's driving me insane.

I am ready for the sun and the summer heat! {If you couldn't tell by my new bulletin board I made for my floor}

*Credit given to Kaylie and Sam for helping me make this amazing bulletin board. Thanks guys! Oh, and to Jamison for putting it up! :)

Softball. Good times.

It is 'that' time of year again.

Softball season.

Cierra and Paige for the last 5 years have been playing for the Timpanogos High School Softball team and every year we have been able to go to St. George and watch the Varsity team play in a tournament. I love watching them play! {especially now that they are actually good and can make contact with the ball}. It has been so much fun to watch the girls grow and become more experienced in their softball playing skills.

Being my Spring Break this last week, I was able to watch 7 games within 5 days! Their poor team by the end of the week was so exhausted that they were making silly errors to a team that they should have smashed for the third time this week.

What made this week even better?

Spring is on its way!

Even better? Summer! {I am still not counting but...40 more days until Maryland!}

The only problem now is that I have experienced the heat, it needs to keep coming! It was beautiful in St. George! By just sitting outside for the entire weekend I now have a pretty ridiculous sun tan, and yet it makes me so happy!

I love the sun!

Saturday. Sheesh.

This was my Saturday being On-Duty {On the 1st day of Spring Break}.

Joy.

4 Phones. 4 Pairs of Keys. 3 Notebooks.

Seriously?

It made for an extremely interesting day, it got rather nerve racking when two phones went off within 2 minutes of eachother. That was fun.

Also, when a phone made a noise and you had to check all of them to see if that phone was the 'culprit' it always happened to be the last phone at the bottom of my purse. That was fun.

There needs to be a better way.

My purse weighed at least 5 pounds more.

What a great way to start Spring Break.

Oh well, at least it was fun.

Maryland? Let's go!

I am a little excited for this summer...actually I am estatic! {just only a little bit though...} I'm getting out of Utah and am going to Maryland for work!

Work, it sounds like...fun right? Well, not really but I am going to be out of the state of Utah with both my brother and even better my boyfriend. That's right, Jamison is going with me! {He's going to be a technician}

Hudson came home one day and offered me a position to work for him at AMP Security to be his Office Assistant. I couldn't resist such a great opportunity to earn money! {It solves the problem of looking for a job in Utah County and convincing employers to hire me for 3 months AND being 200 miles away from Jamison!}

I don't know how much outside of the office I will be seeing of Maryland, but it can make for some fun road trips on Sunday's to locations such as Philadelphia, New York...you know nothing big!

Hopefully I'm not too busy to spend some time on the beach! {And this is a real picture of a beach in Baltimore}

I'm not counting down or anything {but I do only have 58 days left here!}

Summer....get here faster!

HRHM:It's Where I Belong

Dear Everyone,

I am meant to have the degree that I have today that being Hotel, Resort, Hospitality and Management. Just saying.

Not meant for art ever,

Auburn

P.S This is the reason why I am not an Art Major like Jamison...

Actually it's not that bad when viewing it through a picture, what this picture fails to show is the narrow walls, fingerprints, fingernail digs, its lack of height, and not being very circular or level in several areas throughout my piece. I'll give it to Jamison, he definetely knows what he is doing when it comes to Ceramics. I blame my lack of skill in the fact that I don't have steady hands, in fact, I don't think I will ever have steady hands{or the patience} to do art!

So although Jamison told me that if graded by his teacher I would have probably have been given a "C" for my job {I think Jamison was being nice with that grade...}it still made for some really fun date nights with Jamison and I get to see Jamison at 'work'! Another plus of giving my ceramics skill a shot? I get to keep my bowl, or is it a cup? A candy dish? Penny holder? Hmmm...

Filtering the Green Out

I came across this quote today that made me stop and think:

"
Jealousy is simply and clearly the fear that you do not have value. Jealousy scans for evidence to prove the point - that others will be preferred and rewarded more than you. There is only one alternative - self-value. If you cannot love yourself, you will not believe that you are loved. You will always think it's a mistake or luck. Take your eyes off others and turn the scanner within. Find the seeds of your jealousy, clear the old voices and experiences. Put all the energy into building your personal and emotional security. Then you will be the one others envy, and you can remember the pain and reach out to them."~Jennifer James

This is me!

I have been caught and it's now time that I walk away.

I've cheated my self-value.

And I'm done with it.

For a long time now I have found myself 'caught' up in comparing every aspect of my life to another girl that I have known for quite some time now. And through this entry this will be my way of declaring to every one that I am no longer allowing myself to be under her shadow.

I don't have to be a model or an aspiring photographer to be successful and be the most 'amazing' person who has ever walked on this planet. Nor do I have to flaunt to the world that I have the perfect life and best relationship any one could ever ask for. I do not have to be rich, and have everything thrown at me since I came out of the womb to be happy.

I am Auburn.
I have an awesome job being an RA that never has a dull moment.
I am busting my hump to one day be an upscale General Manager for a prestigous resort.
I have an amazing family that loves and cares for me.
I have my own unique and sense of style.
I have learned the value of work and what it means to be independent.
I am in love with a wonderful man and he is all I could ever want.

Why do I envy her? My life is perfect.

Good bye envy.
